JUAN RENATO LAPORTA

 

Corporate lawyer with over 25 years of experience and academic training in international economic and financial law, specialising in international estate planning, asset structuring and protection, and regulatory compliance. He has advised clients in complex cross-border legal environments across both civil law and common law jurisdictions, providing strategic and tailored solutions.

Graduated in Law from the Universidad Católica del Táchira (1994), he holds a Postgraduate degree in International Economic Law and Integration from the Universidad Central de Venezuela (2004). His continuous education includes programs and courses at renowned institutions such as Harvard University, the University of Sydney, and the University of Hong Kong, among others.

Based in Brisbane, Australia, he is registered as a Foreign Lawyer with the Queensland Law Society (QLS). He is an active member of the International Bar Association (IBA), participating in the New Business Structures Committee and the Latin American Regional Forum. Additionally, he is a member of the International Law Section of the Law Council of Australia (LCA).

• Lawyer at Araque Reyna Abogados (Caracas, 1996) – A prestigious Venezuelan law firm.

• Legal Counsel (E) at La Primera Entidad de Ahorro y Préstamo, C.A. and La Primera Casa de Bolsa (1998-2005) – Venezuelan financial institutions.

• Partner at Mizrachi & Asociados, Abogados (2005-2016) – A boutique law firm specialising in tax and financial law.

• Founder and President of AgroGlobal (Interagro) Casa de Bolsa Agropecuaria, C.A. (2004-2009).

• Director of Interbono Casa de Bolsa (2006-2009) – A securities brokerage firm in the Venezuelan capital markets.

• Founder and President of Bursagro Casa de Bolsa de Productos Agrícolas, C.A. (2009 - Present) – A financial institution in the Venezuelan agricultural commodities market.

Since 2017, he has been working as an Independent Consultant in QLD, Australia, providing advisory services in international estate planning, asset protection and structuring, cross-border transactions, financial law, and regulatory compliance.
